In our pursuit of excellence in medical education, research, patient care, and community partnerships, we are deeply committed to fostering an environment where diversity is celebrated, equity is a cornerstone, and every member feels a profound sense of belonging. We believe that embracing the diverse experiences and perspectives of our community is not only the right thing to do but is also essential to achieving health equity and delivering compassionate, culturally responsive care to all.

Join us in shaping a future where every member of our community can bring their whole self, pursue their passions, make meaningful contributions, and help create a healthier, more equitable world. Together, we will build a culture of inclusion that stands as a beacon of hope and a source of pride for all.

Hello! My name is Patricio Riquelme, and I'm an associate professor of internal medicine at OHSU. Currently, I'm a hospitalist who spends much of his time working with Internal Medicine residents and students on the wards, as well as attending the inpatient Addiction Medicine consult service, also known as IMPACT, and the inpatient Palliative Care consult service. I was born in Chile and have spent most of my life in the United States, moving from the East Coast to the West Coast, settling in Portland, and working at OHSU since 2014. I'm the director of the IM resident wellness program, CLEAR, and the Director of Diversity Recruitment at OHSU. My interests include medical education, learner wellness, and creating clinical pathways to help patients from underserved communities. When I'm not working, I spend time with my lovely wife, two teenage daughters, and our pets (Lola, our Corgi, and Tina, our guinea pig). I love watching all kinds of sports, mostly Futbol and Basketball.

Hi! My name is Amy Kwon. I’m a general internist here at OHSU. I joined the GIM division in 2019 as a primary care doc who also does some hospital work on the teaching service, with students and residents. I’m primarily involved with undergraduate medical education as the IM clerkship director for OHSU MD students. I’m a native Oregonian and have enjoyed reconnecting with loved ones in the area, as well as building a wonderful new community of colleagues and friends! I love playing music, hosting gatherings, and spending time outdoors with my family- which more recently has looked like gardening on "easy" mode (that is, throwing some seeds down and seeing what happens!).

Hello, I'm Bisrat Tewelde, a junior faculty member at OHSU. Originally from Ethiopia, I completed my internal medicine residency in New York , 2023. Currently, I'm in the early stages of my career, still figuring out my niche, and I'm grateful to be at an institution like OHSU that supports this journey. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, playing soccer, hiking, and running, taking advantage of the beautiful outdoor opportunities in the area.
